I honeymooned in Tahiti back in 2000, but back then Teahupoo was still a secret.
Nobody went to that part of the island and Tahiti was generally considered to have no surf (ie: Endless Summer)
The rental car companies wouldn't even let you drive past "The End of The Road" which led to Teahupoo.
Now its a totally different story. One day I'll get back out there again, and I'll rent a room there and watch from the channel. Would love to see it going off in person.
