Waves?

Am I missing something here? I don't see a damn thing that will make waves. Dolly, or what's left of her, is coming straight at us and only crosses our window at a terrible, closed out, direction.

The forecast has backed off again.
Forecasting is my concern. Every model shows something different. Three have no tropical action. One shows rotation in the gulf. One shows a low spinning off our coast that drifts south after it forms.

I'm guessing it is a bad idea to ignore the effects of global warming.

Three mornings in a row. Clean little LBers.

I really need to quit checking it...😖

Our sandbars 🌬️

Lori Wilson looks like a blast and there are a zillion people in the water. I don't trust myself on a log in a crowd.

There is a nice wind field circulating around a high that's in our window. The fetch extends way down into the tropics.

The wind seems to be backing off faster than predicted for this first fall swell. Let's hope.

I did not get footage. It was a weird wave. Big but glassy victory at sea. Super high tide. Got out at in Jupiter at 8 and wind got on it at 10. Three walk downs and I actually got denied on the second entry. Four months of not surfing caught up with me. Rode the fish based upon the chunkiness. I caught literally four waves but they were good. No point in sticking around after wind went hard onshore. No real crowd and heavy drift. Turtle eggs washed up every where. The tide was as high as I have ever seen it.

Excellent report!
Now, how about Brevard?
In the mtns, GA/NC line, and vicariously enjoying first fall swell.

Cocoa Beach is clean with long lines but the swell angle and steep bars have it running off a little too fast; more racetrack than playground.

Revised check: It's looking better. More face to ride, less speed required. The period is long enough to bore you into complacency and be out of position when a wave finally arrives. Set waves are few and far between. The frustration level will be an 8 out of 10 if you frequent a crowded break.
